Katie Holmes learned to 'pay attention at family meetings'

Katie Holmes says she learned the hard way to pay attention in Cruise household 'family meetings.' The actress, 32, told chat show host Jimmy Kimmell that she's now all ears during the family huddles. "One time we decided to do some hiking in Colorado – so we had a meeting before our hike," she said. "We were hiking four peaks and I was on my Blackberry not paying attention. "I thought it was going to be a long one but that's all I was listening to." Katie said she hadn't realised hubby Tom Cruise's idea of a hike was quite different from her own. "Our guides pulled out these harnesses and I was like, 'I have to put this on? Are we doing down the side of a mountain?' "I made my husband go in front of me because a harness doesn't look good on anyone. "So from now on I pay attention in our meetings." Joked Kimmell, "I can't believe you have meetings. In our house we never had meetings in any form – there was never a meeting!"
