Tron: Legacy Helmer Debut Box Office King

Deadline.com today published a very intestesting article on the fact that Tron: Legacy helmer Joseph Kosinski has the title of "biggest grossing live action feature debut of all time."
Tron: Legacy was a gnat's nut hair from $400 million at the worldwide box-office, but cost around $170 million to produce, with further heavy costs in marketing. It will still turn a good profit for Disney, not least in the merchandise - Tron is now firmly a brand and even has its own Disneyland ride. The director closest to Kosinksi is JJ Abrams, who made his feature directorial effort with the fun Mission Impossible 3 - which turned in a global haul of $397.5 million. Legacy had the plus of hefty 3D pricing.
The film is released on DVD next week, and a sequel is still in the works at The Mouse House.
